Welcome to the QJC-YAD (Young
Adults Department) page of MyQJC.org. This group has been
formed to facilitate the needs of the young adults of the Queens
Jewish Center. We are a group of individuals who want to
make the QJC and the Forest Hills community welcoming to those
from all backgrounds and age groups.
The main goal is to have a welcoming place for
young people, of all backgrounds, who are new to the community
and those who have been in the community. When new people come
to Forest Hills, they often find it hard to "break in" to the
community. The QJC offers minyanim and shiurim at various
times on various subjects. The davening is not too long,
but not rushed. There is a kiddush almost every week if
possible, to try and help people get to know each other.
Hopefully the friendships built in the shul will last many
years, and keep the QJC a strong community for many many years
to come. Anyone and everyone is welcome in the minyanim, and we
urge you to come and give us a try. We hope people realize that
this is not a "break off" group, it is a "break in" group.
Please take the time to send
an email
QJC-YAD@MyQJC.org with
your name and e-mail address, so we can keep you in the loop
of what's going on, and inform you when changes occur. Your
e-mail won't be put on the site for privacy reasons. We
welcome everyone to come and join us at our events and we
look forward to meeting you at the QJC.
The QJC is also up on
Facebook event updates and alerts. A tab on the
QJC
Facebook page is being set up for the QJC-YAD and should
be up and running soon.
