Like any organization, the Queens Jewish
Center has expenses such as staff salaries and benefits, insurance,
utilities, supplies, printing, postage, and communications technology.
We financially sustain the community through our membership dues,
capital campaign, program fees, and donations.
In Jewish tradition, joyous occasions
as well as remembrances are marked with a tzedakah donation, often to
the synagogue. You may donate to QJC's general operating fund, or you
may earmark your donation to our various funds and sponsorship
opportunities.
Your contributions to the QJC are
generally tax deductible, although you should consult a tax professional
to determine if this is true for your situation. Often, there are tax
advantages to donating appreciated stock or securities; again, consult a
tax professional for guidance.
To make a donation, you can:
Donate Online with a credit card OR
Send a check payable to Queens Jewish
Center to 66-05 108 Street, Forest Hills, NY 11375. If you would like to
designate your donation for a specific fund, in honor of an occasion or
person, or in memory of someone, please note that in the memo line.

Charitable Gift Annuity
Remember the QJC in your will and when you plan your
charitable giving...
Many people in our local Jewish community are enjoying
income tax benefits and sizable quarterly income payments because they have established charitable gift annuities
through the Jewish Community Foundation. At the same time, they are benefiting the QJC, or another charitable
organization of their choice.
What is a Charitable Gift Annuity?
A charitable gift annuity is a contractual arrangement
between the donor and the Foundation. In return for an initial charitable contribution, of, for example, $10,000, the
donor (and/ or another beneficiary) receives a guaranteed fixed income for life. The donor immediately enjoys a
charitable income tax deduction on a portion of the gift, and will not
pay any capital gains tax, if the annuity is funded by
appreciated securities. Most importantly, the remainder of the gift,
which is expected to be 50% of the original contribution, will at
the donor’s death, be given to the QJC, or another charity of their choice. Your planned gift not only will ensure the
continuation of the QJC’s educational and social programs, it will
provide financial security, with tax and income benefits, for
you or a loved one. For information about charitable gift annuities, bequests, endowments, or other gifts, please contact the shul office.
