About Us
The Queens Jewish Center (QJC), a member synagogue of the Orthodox Union (OU), has served as a leading institution within the Modern Orthodox community for seventy-five (75) years. Throughout this time, it has been led by distinguished Rabbanim and notable lay leaders whose impact within the Jewish world has resonated beyond the corridors of the synagogue. To this day, the synagogue continues to embody the very best of pure Torah values, and it prides itself on its commitment to a religious and Zionistic philosophy.
The QJC holds a variety of minyanim, and it enjoys a wonderful Shabbos morning children’s program known as “Shul School”, while additionally holding Saturday night family learning programs in the winter season, as well as holiday-themed programs. The synagogue further hosts various lecture series events, scholar-in-residence programs, and educational seminars, while enjoying Friday night Tisches, Siyumim, barbecues, and a weekly Kiddush on Shabbos morning. It is also the leading Forest Hills synagogue engaged in hosting the annual Yom Haatzmaut event, which is attended by the Rabbanim of other community synagogues. Moreover, the QJC Sisterhood maintains an everlasting dedication to the synagogue’s causes and has consistently led the way with its educational and social programming.
All in all, the QJC offers a warm, welcoming, and friendly environment, and it is seeking to grow its ranks as it continues to play a key role in the larger Jewish community.
