Jack Nussbaum

Chairman of the Board

Upon moving with his family to Queens in 1946, Jack following in his family's tradition, began his personal involvement with the Queens Jewish Center. His father, Harry M. Nussbaum Z.L., worked tirelessly to ensure that the Queens Jewish Center, during its formative years, would become the center of a vibrant Orthodox Jewish community. Jack continues in that capacity today.

While still attending high school, Jack became active with the youth of the congregation, leading various educational and social programs. For approximately 25 years, he conducted the Shabbos morning Junior Congregation service.

Jack's most recent synagogue activities included serving as Vice President and as Chairman of the Board of Trustees. While in the leadership capacity of House Committee, he spearheaded the very extensive Auditorium Renovation Program. Currently, Jack is the synagogue's President and has received strong praise for his friendly open persona and strong passion for getting things done.
