This coming week, throughout the world, Jews are participating in the Shabbat Project. The goal is to inspire Jews of all backgrounds to experience the beauty of Shabbat. While many who participate are not-yet-observant, those who are observant can be inspired by them to enhance our own experience of Shabbat.
To that end, I am inviting and encouraging everyone to participate in two small ways before and after Shabbos:
On Thursday, November 5 at 8:30 PM, I will give a short talk on ten ways in which to enhance Shabbos during the winter. You can tune in while you are doing your on Shabbos preparations, and it will be recorded so that you can listen at a later point if you wish. Zoom link
On Motzaei Shabbos, I would encourage as many people as possible to join us for Zoom Havdalah. I am hoping over the coming months, we will have the opportunity for some special Motzaei Shabbos programming. This week, just keeping it simple, we will screen a video on the parasha from the innovative organization Aleph Beta. Their animated videos are amazing! I will share one just to give us the opportunity to learn in a fun way for 15 minutes or so after Shabbat to keep our connection to this holy day.
I realize that this is coming up very fast, and I apologize for the late notice, but I wanted to ensure we have some opportunity to share in this important initiative.
