With Selichos and Rosh Hashanah a week around the corner, I wanted to bring the following items to your attention:
1) Attached is a Tishrei Guide with zmanim and relevant halachic matters.
2) Selichos is this Motzaei Shabbos. At 9:30 PM, we will have a lecture by Rabbi Bob Kaplan on "Meeting the Challenges of Hate and Anti-Semitism As We Enter 5784." The lecture is dedicated in memory of longtime QJC members Martin and Lily Levinson z"l, Rabbi Kaplan's in-laws. The evening will begin with a few remarks from Wendy Levinson about her parents at the beginning. Selichos will begin at 10:15 PM, and we are privileged again to have Rabbi Binyamin Blumberg as our Baal Tefillah for selichos, as well as Shacharis/Shofar on the Yamim Noraim.
3) Finally, once again, we are partnering with Commonpoint Queens to do a Food/Product Drive as a means of engaging with tzedakah during this time period. Please look out for the bin by the office that will appear in the near future. Please do not bring items on Shabbos/Yom Tov.
