Shemini Atzeres
As we did with Yom Kippur, we will have cards for Yizkor, each of which will have 10 names of kedoshim who were murdered on Shemini Atzeres one year ago. If you took a card home from Yom Kippur, feel free to bring it back, though we have a number of cards that were not distributed at all on Yom Kippur.
Simchas Torah
Families with Children - Please join us for a kids Simchat Torah party with Chava Aronin at 6:00 PM on Thursday in the Bais Hamedrash! Songs will be taught and there will be dancing. Snacks will be served. (There will be a shiur taking place simultaneously in the Main Shul).
As mentioned previously, while we plan to have a joyful Simchas Torah experience, we will be incorporating some elements to mark the year anniversary of the massacre in Israel. We will dedicate each hakafa to a group that has been affected by the war, and before the hakafa a special tefillah will be said. If you get a chance before yuntif, please listen to this song כי קל רופא נאמן ורחמן אתה by Eitan Katz - IYH we will sing it as part of the hakafa for wounded soldiers.
Remember there will be a BBQ dinner after Maariv on Thursday night and a hot kiddush lunch after Musaf on Friday.
There will be an outdoor hakafa at 67 Ave by Beth Gavriel later in the evening. It is a joint initiative of a number of shuls, and all are invited.
